“We were impressed with MA Partner’s vision for the Co-Op District – their vision to create a place that our citizens can be proud of is very exciting’” Mayor Doug Gaul said. “The City Council and I are ready to see this entertainment district develop into a venue where Hutto citizens can work, play, and live.”

Features of the new entertainment district could include a movie theatre, a new City Hall, police station, office space, restaurants, a courtyard, amphitheater and more. Amenities will feature aesthetic landscaping, event space, a retention pond, spacious parking and more.

“We will immediately begin to work with the designated developer that the Council has selected to lay out a plan, and we hope to move dirt this year,” City Manager Odis Jones said. “Furthermore, we look forward to seeing the Co-Op district transform into an entertainment district – something the citizens have been asking for, for years.”

MA Partners of Austin, is one of the most highly respected, full-service land development companies in Central Texas. They oversee all stages of development from initial planning through development completion. They developed several projects in Williamson County, like the Avery Ranch Golf Club, the East Williamson County Higher Education Center, The Texas A&M Medical School in Round Rock, and more. Their projects have over $2.5 billion in value, and all but one of their projects have been local investors. Local developments in Hutto include Emory Farms, Regions Bank (formerly Hutto State Bank), and St. Patrick Catholic Church.

The Co-Op district project is anticipated to begin construction in early 2018.
