  1. May is Fines Forgiveness Month at the Library - Supporting the Hutto Community Food Pantry

    May 1 - May 31 @ Hutto Public Library

May is Fines Forgiveness Month in support of the Hutto Community Food Pantry. When patrons donate items for the food pantry at the library they will have the opportunity to not only support the food pantry, but also to have each item that is not expired and on the list (see below) go towards forgiving $1 in their household’s library fines that they may have accrued. Items to donate include: canned goods; cereal; jelly; all toiletries (shampoo, body wash, razors, deodorant, etc.); cleaners (dish soap, laundry detergent, spray cleaners); paper goods (toilet paper, paper towels.); baby items especially diapers and baby wipes; pasta and spaghetti; boxes of granola bars, and soap bars. Items must be dropped off at the Hutto Public Library to count. No “credits” will be applied to patron accounts when a patron donates an item. If a patron owes $1.50 in fines and donates 2 items, the patron will have the fines forgiven. The library will not “credit” their account by 50 cents.
