A SPECIAL EVENT is a planned, temporary grouping of people or attractions for a common purpose. Some examples are street fairs, arts and crafts shows, rallies and public entertainments. Special events are conducted primarily outdoors; may interfere with normal flow or regulation of pedestrian or vehicular traffic and require special City services - including street closures, barricades, refuse services, stages, special parking arrangements or special police services/protection. If your event fits within this definition, you will need a permit. To apply for a permit with the City of Hutto you will need all of the following: Special Event Application, Special Event Guide Book and Outdoor Festival Fire Standards.
A BLOCK PARTY is a festive gathering on a local residential street requiring a closure of a street (or part of a street) to traffic so the roadway can be used for the festivity - such as barbecues, picnics, music or games. If your event fits within this definition, you will need a permit. Complete a Block Party Application to apply for a permit with the City of Hutto.
A PARADE is any assembly, march, demonstration, procession or motorcade on public streets consisting of three or more persons, animals, or vehicles with an intent of attracting public attention and that may interfere with the normal flow of traffic. If your event fits within this definition, you will need a permit. Complete a Parade Application to apply for a permit with the City of Hutto.
