General Obligation Bond Election

What is a General Obligation Bond?
A General Obligation Bond is a common type of municipal bond that is secured by a local government’s pledge to use legally available resources, including tax revenues, to repay bond holders. Bonds are generally used for public projects including streets, drainage, sidewalk, building and park improvements. General Obligation Bonds are backed by the full faith and credit of the City.

Purpose of the Committee
The City of Hutto is planning to submit to the voters a bond election program of long-term capital investments that meet both municipal and regional goals for providing quality public services and responding to the City of Hutto’s growth. The 2009 Bond Committee will present it’s recommendation of projects for consideration by the City Council.

Election Information
The deadline to register to vote is October 5, 2009 and the election will take place on November 3, 2009. The City Secretary serves as the Chief Election Official for the City of Hutto. For information regarding Election Information visit Election Information. For more information regarding voting dates, times, and polling locations, please contact the Williamson County Elections Office at (512) 943-1630. All of the City of Hutto elections are conducted in accordance with the Texas Election Code

November 3: General Election Date 

Bond Committee Meetings begin at 6pm and are held in the Hutto City Council Chambers located at 401 W. Front Street.

The public is invited to attend all meetings of the Bond Committee.  Public Comment on the proposed election will be allowed during the beginning of each meeting.
