“We are excited to add more experiences for those attending our first 4th of July celebration to enjoy,” said Hutto City Manager Odis Jones. “Events like this deepen the quality of life and sense of community while driving commerce and exposure to our growing city.”
This free celebration will feature live music, food trucks, kids’ activities and fireworks. There will also be a rock-wall, foam pit, bounce houses, water balloon sling-shot games, a mechanical bull, free watermelon (while supplies last) and a "cool zone.”
Additionally, D-Tour Aviation will be in attendance offering helicopter rides for a birds-eye view of the new Hutto Park at Brushy Creek. Rides will be available from 4 – 8:30 p.m. in a Robinson R44 and will start at $90 for five minutes. Prices can be split between up to three passengers.
As part of the Magnificent 7, a group of projects prioritized by the City Council to strengthen Hutto’s economic development and quality of life, the new Hutto Park at Brushy Creek will give residents another place to enjoy community together. A new amphitheater in the northeast corner of the park will host KOKEFest in 2019, while open spaces will give residents the chance to experience the beauty of Central Texas.
“Spending time with family is important, and we want families from the City of Hutto and surrounding areas to feel welcome to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the park in concert with expanding tourism and growing our economy,” said Mayor Doug Gaul.
