The Hutto City Council voted unanimously on June 21 to pass a resolution declaring opposition to the construction of a solid waste transfer station within the Hutto Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ).
The location is part of the planned growth corridor and ETJ of the City of Hutto. The construction will impair the City to realize growth and improve transportation. The location also impairs the future transportation growth plan of the City. Thus, the proposed site will negatively impact future city residents and businesses.
The Hutto City Council also authorized the City Manager and City Attorney to proceed if necessary with exercising eminent domain to secure the necessary real estate to facilitate future transportation and utility needs of the City.
