Hutto, TX – The City of Hutto, one of the fastest growing cities in the nation, attended the  ICSC-REcon-2018 (1)International Council of Shopping Centers Global Retail Real Estate Convention in Las Vegas the third week in May. The event is the world’s largest global gathering of retail real estate professionals and with industry professionals and exhibitors from around the globe. The convention kicked off with roughly 37,000 attendees from the retail real estate world.
“Economic development efforts remain a top priority for the City of Hutto and attending events like RECon expand the goals and visions of economic development so we can create a better community for our residents,” said City of Hutto Mayor Doug Gaul.

“Maximizing lead generation activities that drive growth and the recruitment of new businesses to the city is crucial to our economic vitality,” said City Manager Odis Jones. “By bringing just one of the companies we would return to the citizens far more than our 3 to 1 return on the investment to attend.”
The city spent $8,455 to attend the convention. The City of Hutto delegation included Mayor Doug Gaul, City Manager Odis Jones, Assistant City Manager Helen Ramirez, Director of Economic Development Jessica Bullock, Economic Development Corporation Chairman Judge Bill Gravell and Board Member Nelson Nagle.
