City of Hutto Public Library Named a Neighborhood Favorite
Hutto, Texas — The Hutto Public Library was named a 2018 “Neighborhood Favorite” by Nextdoor users residing in the City of Hutto. Offering a variety of classes and programs to residents of Hutto, in a remarkably compact space, the library is a local hub for residents to gather, learn and explore.
“We’re a place of opportunity,” said Library Manager Lisa Riggs. “We’re here for everyone. We want to help with job searches and homework. We’re here so you can have the opportunity to read books you’ve never read before, or to learn new things, or just socialize with your community.”
The Hutto Public Library will relocate to the new City Hall building in the Co-Op District soon, and the larger facility will have separate areas for adults, children, juniors, young adults, the computer lab, as well as meeting and study rooms, allowing the library to increase their programming and offerings for all ages.
“We’re going to be able to increase our storytime offerings, performances, and summer reading programs,” said Riggs. “People are jam-packed in here most nights, and it’s going to be great to give our ESL classes their own space, and still be able to host Hooks and Needles, or the genealogy classes. They’ll all be separate, but part of the library creating a sense of community.”
As exciting as the new space is, the Hutto Public Library is more than just a building to Riggs. “The new Hutto Public Library will be amazing,” she said, “but I want the community to know that this is the place to be as we head into the future.”
The Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorites is an annual award program that gives neighbors a way to recognize the best-loved businesses in their local area.
