Business Community Members Network at the New Hutto City Hall
Hutto, Texas — More than 100 Hutto professionals, developers, business owners and entrepreneurs gathered at the new City Hall for the Hutto Partners Meet & Greet. The event is hosted by the City of Hutto Economic Development Department.
"As Hutto grows, it becomes more important for our business community to come together in order to make connections and support one another," said Nate Killough, Hutto City Council member. “The Hutto Partners Meet & Greet put on by the City of Hutto offers excellent networking opportunities for both new and established businesses in a fun, social setting."
"It is great to get all our business partners together to have the opportunity to exchange information and ideas," said Mayor Doug Gaul. "This event was especially meaningful as we had the chance to allow these businesses that choose to invest in Hutto to preview the new City Hall as they network."
The new City Hall and Public Library is part of the Co-Op District, a mixed-use entertainment district. The public private partnership of this dynamic 35-acre business, retail and entertainment destination.
As Hutto has experienced intense, rapid growth, the vision of The Co-Op District remained at the forefront. The land, which sat vacant since 2003 is a testament of partnership and progress as the home of the new City Hall, City Library, Southside Marketing & Barbecue, Flix Brewhouse and Top Notch Hamburgers will truly transform Hutto from a bedroom community to a live, work, play environment for residents and visitors alike.
“The City has embraced an open-for-business and entrepreneurial philosophy in fulfillment of the vision set forth by City Council,” said City Manager Odis Jones. “The Co-Op District exemplifies private public partnerships and our commitment to maintaining this vision and utilizing innovative planning and financing structures to make the vision a reality,” added Jones.
“Events like the Hutto Partners Meet & Greet are so important to the business community, it provides an opportunity to build connections and develop working partnerships,” said JD King of John King Construction. “It was great to be able to be in the new City Hall and share the hard work and vision that has gone into the project. We are so thrilled to be working with the City of Hutto on this project.”
The Hutto Partners Meet & Greet is a quarterly event offering an opportunity for business/property owners, developers and entrepreneurs to meet face-to-face in a casual after hours social setting and get updates from the economic development department.
The March 15 event was held at the new City Hall located at 500 W. Live Oak Street and gave attendees a sneak peek to the building before the City begins serving residents on April 1.
Event sponsors were Rio Grande Restaurant and the Hutto Area Chamber of Commerce.
