The Saul House, one of the City of Hutto’s familiar camp and event spaces got a facelift recently. Built in 1975, the house is often used for Parks and Recreation Department summer camps and city training, as well as event rental.

Although the bones of the house were good, the house needed some sprucing up, said Larry Foos, director of Hutto Parks and Recreation Department.

“The house was always clean, but after a successful summer camp, we felt it could use a coat of paint and refreshed appearance,” Foss said. “Since the Gin isn’t going to be available for rental with the construction, we wanted to make the Saul House a more attractive option.”

Along with a new coat of paint, renters will find the kitchen is more functional and brighter with new appliances.

“We also did a deep clean, put up new blinds, and sorted through items that had been stored in the house for years,” he said. “We wanted to make sure the house looks good since we’ll be using it more as we offer new programs to our residents.”

The next event at the Saul House will be the Fall Holiday Camp Nov. 20 through 22, and the Kids Night Out on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
