Hutto, TX – The City of Hutto is pleased to announce the completion of the first paving project using the new equipment purchased by the City for the stand-alone Streets and Drainage department. This purchase has contributed to the ability of the City to repair streets rather than contracting the services out to other companies.
“As Hutto continues to grow, the city has placed an emphasis on repairing and improving streets and drainage infrastructure for the residents of the city,” said City Manager Odis Jones.
Repairs on Johnson Cove are scheduled to begin June 7. The asphalt was removed and sunken areas were fixed. The road is now ready to pave using the new streets and drainage paving equipment. The work is expected to be completed that day.
Two additional projects have been completed. The entire stretch of Stewart Drive has been repaired and the high spot at the intersection of Cockrill Cove and Cockrill Street has been completed.
Pheasant Cove is being graded with crews working to install a concrete drainage flume. The concrete pour is expected to take place next week. Alligator cracking and base and road repair on Carl Stern Drive between Chris Kelley Boulevard and Front Street is scheduled for this summer.
The purchase and the development of a comprehensive infrastructure improvement program is part of the Magnificent 7, a group of projects and investments prioritized by the City Council to enhance Hutto’s infrastructure and public safety.
