Connect or Transfer Utility Service Deposit Information
In order to establish utility services, the utility billing department must verify a credit history at the time the services are requested. This will determine if a deposit will be required.
Waste Water/Garbage Services: City of Hutto requires a deposit of $100 to $200 based on a credit report at the time service is requested.
Water and Wastewater/Garbage Services: City of Hutto requires a deposit of $150 to $250 based on a credit report at the time service is requested.
Waiving the deposit may also be taken into consideration based on the credit report at the time service is requested.
If services are disconnected at anytime for non-payment, a deposit or an additional deposit will be charged, plus an additional processing fee.
Commercial/Non-residential Service Deposit
For commercial/non residential accounts, a utility deposit equal to at least twice the average monthly bill of that establishment or a similar establishment of its kind. The minimum commercial/non-residential deposit is equal to the residential deposit.
Refunding a Deposit
The deposit shall be refundable (without interest) upon discontinuance of service providing the monthly charge for services of all kinds indicated on the monthly billing has been paid in-full.
The deposit will be refunded to the customer utility account, when customer has to meet the following requirements. No late charges, no disconnect of services for non-payment, and no returned payments consecutively in 12 month period.
