We are delighted to give you a sneak peek at Hutto's first sculpture! The City commissioned a sculptor at Bartlett Stone in Florence, TX to create a sculpture that gains its inspiration from the Historic Cotton Gin and brings a piece of our past into the future developments of the City.

Sculptor Mathew Johnson
Matthew Johnson, the sculptor has more than 25 years of experience in the craft and business of carving stone. This two-ton piece of limestone began as a solid block and he carved away at it creating what you see below. The leaves and blooms of the cotton plant, along with the rollers found in the original cotton gin served as the inspiration for the final piece.
