The City of Hutto and Hutto ISD have teamed up to launch #HippoNationFriday, a community-wide initiative to show community unity and pride by wearing Hutto orange every Friday! With Hutto ISD students returning to school this week, the brand-new campaign is set to kick off TOMORROW (Friday, Aug. 19). Everyone in the entire community – from Hutto businesses and workers, to students and alumni, families and friends – are encouraged to wear Hutto orange every Friday to show their shared love for Hutto. At Hutto City Hall for example, all non-uniformed City Staff are urged to wear Hutto orange every Friday.
While any orange shirt will do, Hippo Nation spirit-wear and gear can be purchased at the school district’s new Team Spirit Store, located inside Hutto Memorial Stadium. It’s open during all events at this beautiful venue. The Hippos kick off their 2022 season TONIGHT (Thurs, Aug. 18) with a 7 pm home football scrimmage against Vandegrift. “Whether you’re new to Hutto or you’ve lived here proudly for generations, the main thing we all have in common is our love of the Hutto community,” said Allison Strupeck, City public information officer. “An easy way to unite and show our community pride is to wear orange on Fridays.”
Got Hippo Pride? When you do wear orange on Fridays, please help spread the positive vibes. Post photos of yourself (or your group!) on social media using the hashtag #HippoNationFriday!
