Hutto parks continue to receive upgrades

Creekside

The Hutto Parks & Recreation Department has been hard at work this summer, completing a wide variety of upgrades at many City parks. While several projects have been completed, more are still in progress with additional scheduled for this fall. Check out a list of recent and upcoming projects slated for your favorite Hutto park:

Mager Youth Baseball & Softball Fields

Crews recently completed a variety of projects relating to fencing at the Mager Youth Baseball & Softball Fields. Additional fence bracing was added to the dugouts while gates were installed around the t-ball field. Work was also done to repair the double-gates on park property. The installation of scoreboards is currently in progress, slated to be completed this fall. The City is also in the process of commissioning a mural for the fence surrounding the concession stand.

Hutto Lake Park

This month, crews from Musco Lighting completed the installation of lights for the basketball court at Hutto Lake Park. Additional work is underway to add benches to the park, install fencing around the basketball court, and renovate the restrooms. Crews are also in the process of cutting down grass reeds and re-establishing the edge around the pond. These updates are slated for completion by this winter.

Hutto Community Park

Hutto Community Park also recently received basketball court lighting as crews from Musco Lighting completed that project this month. Work is also substantially underway to add a restroom facility as well as a playscape to the park property. The pavilion is slated to receive a new coat of paint and damaged concrete will be repaired this fall.

Fritz Park

Over at Fritz Park, crews installed new tennis windscreens and renovated the restrooms. Work is substantially underway on lighting for the basketball court, with completion by the end of this summer. Parks & Rec staff are also in the process of replacing the lighting in the pavilion, completing maintenance of the pedestrian bridge and installing new park benches. Each of these projects are on track to be completed this fall.

Creekside Park

Finally, at Creekside park, crews renovated the restrooms and replaced a shade canopy damaged during spring storms. The City is also in the process of initiating a project that will replace damaged concrete along the walking trail that runs from Fritz Park to Creekside Park.
