Another major technology project is in the works for the coveted Hutto Megasite! Dallas-based Skybox Datacenters and its partner, San Francisco-based Prologis Inc., have purchased over 220 acres from the City of Hutto, where they plan to build a world-class campus of data centers. The land is part of the Hutto Megasite, a massive tract for strategic development of big businesses on the south side of US Hwy 79 in far eastern Hutto.
The City of Hutto chose Skybox Datacenters and Prologis because of their work in the greater Austin metro area and impressive growth across Texas.
Prologis Vice President and Investment Officer JC Witt said the company has seen firsthand the tremendous growth of Hutto and the surrounding region.
"The City of Hutto is very attractive for its strong workforce, prime location and pro-growth mindset," Witt said. “The site on Highway 79 is a rare find, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the City and Skybox Datacenters to develop it."
Skybox CEO Rob Morris said he’s equally excited about the large new campus in Hutto and Skybox’s growing partnership with Prologis in Central Texas.
"Developing this world-class project—in collaboration with the City of Hutto to source an excellent workforce and resilient regional facilities—will empower digital infrastructure growth at an unprecedented rate and scale," he said.
Bob Farley, the City’s economic development director, said the large investment in Hutto is a strategic win for the community. More info to come soon!
