The much anticipated opening of Top Notch Hamburgers at The Hutto Co-Op District is set for Wednesday, March 22. This will mark only the second location of Top Notch since its iconic original location opened on Burnet Road in Austin in 1971.
Top Notch Hutto will be open daily from 11 am to 9 pm at 121 Co-Op Blvd., serving up its beloved charcoal grilled burgers, hand-dipped onion rings, fried chicken and more.
Lines are to be expected initially, both because of the excitement about this Austin brand choosing Hutto and the newness of the crew. Owner Kelly Chappell reported that training has gone well this month with nearly 40 crew members, noting that he intentionally hired almost everyone from Hutto as part of the local investment. But with staff being so new, he's asking the community for extra grace and patience this month.
A week or two after opening, Top Notch Hutto will host a grand opening party. Chappell said he aims to also hold an old-school hot rod event here on Sunday, April 23; mark your calendars and stay tuned for more details!
Top Notch is well known for many reasons, one of which is being featured in the 1993 cult classic comedy, "Dazed and Confused," where actor Matthew McConaughey delivered his famous "Alright, alright, alright" catchphrase.
