Fritz Park is scheduled for renovation in 2024-25 and is poised to become Hutto's premier park, featuring brand-new play areas, a splash pad, walking trails, and a host of other attractive park facilities.
The Hutto Parks and Recreation Department is actively looking for volunteers to join a committee to help develop a new playground at Fritz Park for children ages 2-5, and another for those aged 5-12, as well as a new splash pad. The Fritz Park Parent Committee meets Oct. 19 through Nov. 30, 2023. To apply or inquire before Oct. 19, please visit www.huttotx.gov/PARD or contact, Jeff White, the director of Hutto Parks and Recreation, at [email protected] or by calling 512-759-5967.

Currently, the timeline has phase 1 of the project starting this December, with phase 2 starting in May 2024 and finishing in Spring 2025. The Hutto Parks Advisory Board will have a dedicated item on each meeting agenda about the Fritz Park renovation until the project is completed. The Parks Advisory Board meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm, and the public is always welcome.
The cost is estimated at $11 million, and the funding will be further discussed at Hutto City Council's meeting on November 2.
