The Hutto Police Department (HPD) urges everyone in Hutto to share this information with your friends, family, and neighborhood groups.
HPD just launched a new app to its crime-fighting arsenal! The app will help residents of all ages connect with Hutto Police to submit anonymous tips from their smartphone. Developed by tip411, the HPD app is available for FREE download via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Residents in Hutto who don't have a smartphone can still share information with HPD by sending an anonymous text tip via their cell phone as follows:
- keyword HUTTOPD and your tip to 847411 (tip411)
“Our goal is to make it easy for the people of Hutto to communicate with our Department, and by working together continue to keep Hutto one of the safest cities in Texas,” said Police Chief Jeffrey Yarbrough. “With our new tip411 app, we have added another way for the community to easily access our Department.”
The new HPD app and text-a-tip system are both 100% ANONYMOUS. The technology removes all identifying information before police see the tips. In this way, the app lets you privately share tips with police, and lets officers respond back to create an anonymous 2-way conversation.
NOTE: For all in-progress emergencies, please call 911! And for all police-related non-emergencies call 512-846-2200
