The Hutto City Council voted unanimously (7-0) at the Dec. 16, 2021 regular meeting to appoint Isaac Turner as Interim City Manager. The decision was made after careful consideration.
While Turner is best known locally as the former city manager of neighboring Taylor from 2014 to 2019, he brings to Hutto nearly 40 years of experience in municipal leadership. In addition to managing comparably sized cities in Florida for a decade, in Texas he managed the City of McKinney from 1997 to 2000 after holding an executive-level position with the City of Dallas for several years. Through these experiences, Turner has been recognized for his work on development codes, financial strategies, infrastructure improvements, comprehensive plans, and City Council-level strategic planning.
Turner earned a Master’s of Public Administration from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor’s degree in political science from Kansas State University.
Turner will start in his new position with the City of Hutto on Jan. 3, 2022. He looks forward to collaborating with Hutto staff and community members to continue the City’s positive trajectory and momentum. The City Council will next work with a search firm to conduct a national search for the City’s new, long-term city manager—a process which is likely to take several months.
