Most entrepreneurs must have excellent time management and prioritization skills to be successful. This was certainly true for Marci Wagner as she navigated her full-time job in real estate while also launching her own small business, Bless This Nest.
After opening the boutique in 2014, she juggled her small business and her real estate career for three years before focusing fully on her small business.
However, it was through her real estate career that an opportunity arose for Wagner to open Bless This Nest in Historic Downtown Hutto. The shop houses affordable boutique clothing and jewelry while also offering décor, specialty paints, paint classes and a monthly Wine Down Wednesday. Events at Bless This Nest are always free and classes are kept very affordable.
Over time, the charming shop set inside a century-old historic home has become a favorite among hippos and tourists alike. Wagner ensured the business was actively involved in the culture and vibrancy of the Downtown District, from her unforgettable “jingle juice” at the City’s annual Santa Claus Crawl to her always on-trend assortment of rustic décor.
As Bless This Next continues to thrive in its ninth year, Wagner’s advice to emerging entrepreneurs is to continue working hard while maintaining funding to stay afloat.
“It can be fun and scary at the same time. Patience is needed in the beginning for sure because it isn’t an instant overnight success,” she said.
