Hutto, TX (Nov. 9, 2018) – Join Hutto’s finest first responders as they square off against the toughest hippos in town, the Hutto Independent School District teachers and staff at 6:45 p.m., on Nov. 14, in a volleyball game to benefit Orange Santa.

The first responders have swept the game for the last five years.

“Your win streak ends this year!” said an anonymous source inside the school district via social media. “We’ve taken lessons from the District Champions Hutto Hippos volleyball team! Game on! Game OVER!”

In response, also on social, a representative from the Hutto Police Department posted a response saying, “We are FIRST responders for a reason! Pucker up Pub Ed! 5-0 soon to be 6-0!”

T-shirts supporting each team are for sale. You can choose your team spirit by picking a safety pink t-shirt for the public safety team or a neon green for the public education team.

Safety pink t-shirts are for sale at the Hutto Police Department and the Hutto Fire Department, the neon green t-shirt can be purchased at the Hutto High School cafeteria.

Although the losers have to kiss a pig, there is no word on which team the pig supports.

Admission to the grudge match is a $5 donation to Orange Santa or a new, unwrapped toy. The game will be held on Hutto ISD’s home turf at the Hutto High School Gymnasium. With the cancellation of the Haunted House benefitting Orange Santa, this is a great opportunity for the community to pick their favorite team and support Orange Santa.

The event is sponsored by Al Clawson Disposal, Inc.
